It’s smack dab in the middle of Summer 2013 and my band (rather a very stripped down version of my band) are about to embark on two back to back shows in Santa Barbara playing as an acoustic trio. We are in the process of rehearsing re-arranged material to fit this more stripped down approach and are looking forward to experiencing some rootsy, acoustic magic with all our fans and friends on Thursday, August 1st at Soho Restaurant & Music Club. Soho is a great venue located in Santa Barbara at 1221 State Street. We play an hour set starting at 8:45pm. Adam Walker opens at 7:30 and News of the Fire follow the BTB at 10:30pm.
This will be our first time at this venue and we really could use the support of familiar faces and loved ones at this show. For our LA family and friends, I know it will be quite a trek, but it would make a great summer 2013 memory and SB is such a damn gorgeous place to be in the summer! For our long neglected SB friends and fans, we hope you can catch us as this will be our first SB concert since 2006!
We are certainly looking forward to returning to Santa Barbara and I am hoping our fans decide to join us at Soho and make some summertime magic happen with us!
The very next evening (Friday, August 2nd), we will be performing from 7-10pm at The Cold Spring Tavern located at 5995 Stagecoach Road. The historic tavern location is a little tricky to find, but well worth the trip up into the Santa Barbara mountains. This venue is absolutely magical and is a destination spot for bikers, families and friends who enjoy a pint of great ale in a woodsy, rootsy setting surrounded by wilderness. It truly is a get-away and an experience that will stay with you long after the night of music is over.
In case you are interested in going, here are some more detailed directions for The Cold Spring Tavern: Take Hwy 101 to Hwy 154, go up the mountain to the top, then, one mile down the valley side, turn left onto Stagecoach Road. Take a direct right and go down the canyon for about 1 1/2 miles to the Tavern.
I certainly cannot wait to get back on stage with my guys. It’s been a while since we’ve played. I’m also very excited to return to Santa Barbara, which I consider to be one of my adopted home towns!
